Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking The Spine. Visit my Upcoming page to see more books I'm looking forward to.

Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Farma (September 2012)

Goodreads Description:
"Fierce, seductive mermaid Syrenka falls in love with Ezra, a young naturalist. When she abandons her life underwater for a chance at happiness on land, she is unaware that this decision comes with horrific and deadly consequences.

Almost one hundred forty years later, seventeen-year-old Hester meets a mysterious stranger named Ezra and feels overwhelmingly, inexplicably drawn to him. For generations, love has resulted in death for the women in her family. Is it an undiagnosed genetic defect . . . or a curse? With Ezra’s help, Hester investigates her family’s strange, sad history. The answers she seeks are waiting in the graveyard, the crypt, and at the bottom of the ocean—but powerful forces will do anything to keep her from uncovering her connection to Syrenka and to the tragedy of so long ago."

The Demon Catchers of Milan by Kat Beyer (August 2012)

Goodreads Description:
"About an American teenager whose life is changed when she learns she’s a member of an ancient Italian family of demon hunters."

The Sweetest Spell by Suzanne Seflors (September 2012)

Goodreads Description:
"Emmeline Thistle has always had a mysterious bond with cows, beginning on the night of her birth, when the local bovines saved the infant cast aside to die in the forest. But Emmeline was unaware that this bond has also given her a magical ability to transform milk into chocolate, a very valuable gift in a kingdom where chocolate is more rare and more precious than gold or jewels. Then one day Owen Oak, a dairyman’s son, teaches Emmeline to churn milk into butter—and instead she creates a delicious chocolate confection that immediately makes her a target for every greedy, power-hungry person in the kingdom of Anglund. Only Owen loves Emmeline for who she truly is, not her magical skill. But is his love enough to save her from the danger all around her?
In a departure from her contemporary teen romances, Suzanne Selfors crafts an irresistible re-imagined fairy tale that will tempt readers with a delicious story of love that is sweeter than the richest chocolate."

  3. The last one! :D Ancient family of demon hunters? WTF? Imagine waking up, then a distant relative stopping by just to tell you, "Honey.. You're a demon hunter. Go and hunt."

  4. I agree that they all sound good and have gorgeous covers, but why does "The Sweetest Spell by Suzanne Seflors" have the same Goodreads Description as The Demon Catchers of Milan by Kat Beyer? New GFC follower. Natasha @ Paranormal Goddess Book Blog

  12. Chocolate?! Oh, wow, now that sounds awesome. :D Not completely sure about THE SWEETEST SPELL's synopsis, but the chocolate-part would already be enough reason to add it to my to-read list. Although I'd probably end up gaining a lot of weight while reading it because I'd constantly be hungry. :D

Also adding THE DEMON CATCHERS OF MILAN to my to-read list. Like the sound of it.

Already have an eARC of MONSTROUS BEAUTY and cannot wait to get to it. It sounds soooo awesome. :)

    Lovely WoW picks!
