Love Triangles: Destined

Love Triangles is a feature I created to discuss how I feel about love triangles in the novels I read. I am assuming that those reading the love triangles posts have already read the books. Please be aware that these posts may contain spoilers.  

David-Laurel-Tamani

I am still team Tamani! Laurel and Tamani have a connection that David will never understand. They have a history together, they are both fairies, and they both live ridiculously long lives. Aside from that, Laurel and Tamani managed to fall in love in Avalon despite everything that should have kept them a part—including that they were born in different seasons. I also love the way Tamani refuses to give up on Laurel because he knows that they are meant for each other and that one day she will too.

David has a lot of great qualities, and I am sure there are a lot of people he would be great with—Laurel just isn’t one of them.

Yuki-Tamani-Laurel

I feel so bad for Yuki. Yes, she is working with the bad guys. However, I think this is forgivable because she grew up away from Avalon and crazy Klea is the only parental figure she has ever known (what a nightmare!). I think Yuki’s feelings for Tamani are more of a childhood crush. She hasn’t been exposed to very many fairies like her and she certainly hasn’t been around fairies who are not filled with Klea’s crazy ideas of vengeance.

As far as Tamani goes, I think his feelings for Laurel are too pure to love anyone else.
